Happy New Year Everyone!
It’s crazy how 2026 is here already!
The one thing we always see on social media, and people tend to talk about in the new year, are NEW YEAR GOALS!
If you think about it, the year is a very, very long time. You may set a list of goals for things you want to accomplish during this year; however, things can change day by day.
Goals are a great way to feel motivated, get things done, feel proud and accomplished. However, they can also be very daunting and overwhelming.
If you are going to create goals this year, I recommend ONE thing: please keep the list small and reasonable. You don’t have to create goals according to the SMART system, unless you want to, please go ahead! But create REALISTIC goals!
Leave perfection at the door.
Whether it is a goal of losing weight, cleaning and organizing, travelling places, trying hard things, speaking up more in class or in your workplace or making new friends, pick one goal and break it down into smaller parts. Working through the smaller parts makes the bigger goal more achievable. Give yourself space to adapt or reframe your goal, because as I said, things can change day by day, so your bigger goal may not happen, so you can pivot, and that is okay!
Like I said before, leave perfection at the door and pick one goal and break it into smaller steps! Give yourself a CHANCE to succeed.
